What is this movie about? Well, here's what we know from the official synopsis: "Back in the 40's, a large medicinal manufacturing plant in Guangzhou, Kwong Cheong Tong, is hiring. To his luck, Leung Kwong was hired simply due to his resemblance to their missing Third Master of 10 years. While at work, Leung encounters strange incidents one right after the other. In one case, Leung was attacked and was saved by a mysterious young woman (Fu Yung) who claims that Leung is actually Third Master who she has been waiting for the last 10 years.
In order to get to the bottom of the mystery of the missing Third Master, Leung goes to Singapore with his girlfriend, Hsiao Chen, in hopes of finding the truth. Their trip to Singapore only brings them back to the original source, Kwong Cheong Tong. The longer it takes to Leung to solve the mystery, the deeper he falls into the persona as Third Master. He becomes romantically involved with Hsiao Chen and Fu Yung, not able to distinguish one from the other. As Leung gets closer to the truthdanger gets closer to Leung..."
Our neighbours across the Causeway have had the honour of watching this first (since it was released last week) and reviews and word of mouth have not been positive- but perhaps the chance to catch a movie made in our very own country may entice you?
Figures by the Korean Box Office System (KOBIS) released on Monday revealed that the newly released picture, which opened in theatres on June 16, attracted 809,229 moviegoers during the weekend of June 18 to 20. The film has accumulated over 1.1 million admissions to date, making it the fastest movie this year to breach the one million mark.

In the United States, the highly anticipated third installment to Toy Story finished first at the weekend box office pulling in $109 million in the United States. The film became the first Disney/Pixar release to top $100 million in its opening weekend, setting a record for both Pixar and the month of June. The film is also the 11th Pixar title in a row to achieve Box Office No. 1 status as well as the biggest Pixar/Disney Animation Opening Weekend.
TOY STORY 3’s achievements are products of its success in sustaining the Pixar-esque charm, humour and cross-generational appeal for which the first two films in the series were feted. Adults who watched the first two films now have their own children to introduce this film to – giving rise to a whole new generation of TOY STORY fans. Young adults, usually not a big audience for animated films, also played an important role: 40 percent of the non-family audience was aged 17-24, people who presumably grew up with TOY STORY and are now able to identify with the protagonist Andy who like them, is now a young adult.

The month of May is traditionally the start of the red-hot summer blockbuster season but this year, it seems audiences are not heading to the theatres as much as they used to. Put that down to a case of 'sequelitis' as Hollywood seems to be playing it safe by lining up a less than ballsy release slate this year including sequels, and more sequels.
Kicking off the first wave of summer blockbusters was Paramount's Iron Man 2 which opened solidly both in Singapore as well as Stateside. Singapore also had the privilege of being one of the first to see Asian action star Donnie Yen's return to one of his most iconic characters in the sequel Ip Man 2. The two "I"s slugged it out in the first weekend of May but still ended up with impressive box-office returns for both- with Ip Man 2 surpassing Red Cliff to become the highest-grossing Asian film in Singapore.
Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott teamed up again for the retelling of the folklore hero, Robin Hood, in the third week of May. Although rated considerable better than Kingdom of Heaven and King Arthur, audiences seem rather indifferent to the film which opened to middling numbers both here and Stateside.
Hoping to jump-start a new franchise, the Jerry Bruckheimer/Disney/fantasy video game production, Prince of Persia starring Jake Gyllenhaal unfortunately did not get enough votes from audiences. Box-office opening numbers was nowhere near that for similarly-themed The Mummy and Pirates of the Caribbean movies, a likely consequence of the movie's utterly fuzzy plotting and Gyllenhaal’s out-of-place British accent.
Sex and the City 2 as the movie expected to top the US Memorial Day box office weekend crashed out at a distant third. In Singapore too, the movie opened third, behind both Shrek 4 and Prince of Persia.
If you're getting tired of seeing more of the same, we hear you and we share your sentiments. June might bring some reprieve with Owen Wilson's talking dog Mamarduke, the flashy update of the '80s TV series The A-Team, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz's action bonaza Knight & Day, and of course Disney/Pixar's Toy Story 3, one sequel we're sure you'll definitely want to see. Yes, by most summer standards, this year's seems unusually tepid and studios will do well to take notice.

starring well-loved comedians Henry Thia (Money No Enough 2, Where Got Ghost?) of Singapore, Jack Lim (Kidnapper, Ah Long Pte Ltd) of Malaysia, Taiwan’s Crystal Lin (One Million Star Season 3 alumnae) and popular MediaCorp YES933 DJ Siau Jiahui will be hitting Singapore cinemas on July 22. The movie, helmed by veteran director Fok Chi Kai will be distributed theatrically in Singapore by Golden Village Pictures and Clover Films. OLD COW VS TENDER GRASS tells the story of Moo (played by Henry Thia), a taxi-driver in his late 40s, and how his routine life changes when he gets acquainted with an attractive but eccentric lady, Moon (played by Crystal Lin). Jack Lim plays a rugged taxi-driver who falls for a lady from China (played by Siau Jiahui). The movie attempts to explore the seemingly improbable romantic relationships in today’s society, through a simple yet hilarious storyline.
