8th Asian Film Symposium

In its 8th year running, the Asian Film Symposium (AFS) has proven itself to be an important and vital regional film programme. Both a film festival and an industry-networking event, AFS has brought together prominent, young filmmaking talents and established curators from Asia to share information, resources and industry experience from their respective territories.

Furthermore, filmmakers whose works were previously featured at AFS have moved on to win awards and make their first feature films. Tan Chui Mui, Malaysian filmmaker for the acclaimed "Love Conquers All", had her short film "A Tree in Tanjung Malim" screened at the 5th AFS. Singapore filmmaker Han Yew Kwang has also moved on to produce two feature films including the successful "Unarmed Combat", a feature-length expansion of his original short film.
