71: Into The Fire :: Fastest Movie To Reach 1 Million Admissions This Year

71: Into The Fire has premiered in South Korean theatres on June 16th and instantly took the number one spot at the box office. The movie, starring A-list actors Kwon Sang Woo, T.O.P. from Big Bang, Cha Seung Won and Kim Seung Woo, was directed by A Moment to Remember director Lee Jae Han.

Figures by the Korean Box Office System (KOBIS) released on Monday revealed that the newly released picture, which opened in theatres on June 16, attracted 809,229 moviegoers during the weekend of June 18 to 20. The film has accumulated over 1.1 million admissions to date, making it the fastest movie this year to breach the one million mark.

71: Into The Fire is about the true story of 71 student soldiers who fought during the Korean War. The film commemorates the 60th anniversary of the war this month. 71: Into The Fire is slated for release 26th August 2010.
