Iconic Shaw Lido Cineplex to close for renovation

Shaw Theatres Lido Cineplex, located at Shaw House levels 5 and 6 will be closed for renovation from 1 October 2010. Patrons of this iconic Cineplex can look forward to a new entertainment experience when it re-opens in April 2011.

The new Shaw Lido will present Digital IMAX to local audiences for the very first time. IMAX is the ultimate premium movie-going experience. It immerses audiences with unparalleled clarity of picture and sound in both 2D and 3D. In addition, the public can expect more comfortable theatres, optimised for the best picture and sound with stadium seating, more leg-room, and refreshing F&B offerings. Mr Christopher Shaw, Executive Vice President of Film Distribution, furthered: “Our addition of three more theatres, making it a total of 11, will give audiences more movie choices at any given point in time. We will also have the opportunity to bring exclusive IMAX content to Singapore.”

Shaw Theatres hopes to celebrate this occasion with its loyal customers with a Shaw Lido Wall Mural Contest. The classic wall mural with movie characters located along the box office queue will be removed. Shaw Theatres would like the public to participate in the contest to bid this signature feature farewell. To participate, contestants will need to identify as many of the movies featured on the mural as possible and submit their entries via http://www.shaw.sg/. The contestant who correctly identifies the most number of movies featured on the Shaw Lido Wall Mural will win a 4D3N Hong Kong Disneyland‟s Hollywood Trip for two. Contest ends 30 September 2010.
